Unarmed Stage Combat and Slapstick

for students in grades 4-6 Instructor: Aaron Preusse
January 24th - February 14th, 2015

Have you ever wondered how the movies do those fights without anyone getting hurt?
Come join Aaron Preusse, actor, teacher, and fight choreographer, for mornings of punches, kicks, and slapstick fun. This class will cover the basics of unarmed stage combat, safety, and believability. Students will learn how to punch, choke, and kick while learning the value of working together around a concept of making your partner look good and a “contest of generosity.” In addition, students will learn the basics of slapstick and how we can turn violence into comedy. All of these techniques will culminate into a short phrase of choreography, which will be shared with family and friends on the last day of class.

Four Saturdays
