The Phipps Center for the Arts

The Phipps Drama Council and Children’s Theater Council will host an open house on Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. for anyone interested in volunteering for future community theater or children’s theater productions.

The Drama Council of The Phipps Center annually produces five shows, which include comedies, musicals, and dramas. The community theater will stage the ‘50s musical Grease this summer. The Phipps Children’s Theater annually mounts four productions. This spring, the council is staging an adaptation of the fantasy Tuck Everlasting.

A tour of the main stage, Black Box Theater, control booths, scene shop, prop rooms, costume room, and other areas will be included. Volunteers who have worked on Phipps’s productions will be on hand to answer questions and explain what goes on during a show.

This open house is to encourage new volunteers to get involved. All those with a love for the theater and a willingness to work with others should attend this gathering, and bring along a friend.

Hundreds of volunteers annually provide dedicated and talented service to the various programs and activities offered at The Phipps Center. Individuals of all ages and skill levels as well as families are welcome to participate.
